Amongst the slime, sand, unicorns, pugs (and pugs that are also unicorns), there were some gems at this year's London Toy Festival. The week-long mega toy fest that determines a lot of how the £3.4bn ($4.7bn) industry will fair in 2018 and (somewhat) in 2019. Fewer STEM and STEAM toys than I expected but they were there. The gender divide is still well and truly alive and well (although mainly perpetuated by demo-ers and stereotypical imagery in the main). Amongst the licensed toys (look out for new Turtles, Incredibles...everywhere and Nickelodeon properties to be particularly strong although most were under NDA so...no pics), here are the best things I saw walking around that kids (and big kids) will be parents and Santa asking for this year.
Matthew 28:19,20 - Baptized people should be taught to obey all Jesus' commands. This shows that it is not necessary, at the very point of baptism, for people to know all the specific commands they must obey after baptism. But they must be capable of learning those commands. And they must have a heart willing to accept by their own free will everything Jesus says.

Ok so these spiders actually are pretty cute!  They’re new, from Hasbro, and there are 10 different ones to collect!  They’re interactive, voice activated, and move faster or slower based on how loud (or soft) you are!  All are different colors and have different personalities, plus they can totally interact with each other when all put in a setting together.  Think of how much fun it will be to race them!  Learn more about Yellies here.
If you remember the Christmas craze last year for the cute little Fingerlings Monkeys, well Wowwee upped their game and literally just released their new line of Fingerlings called “Untamed Raptors.”  These dinosaur toys are cute and ferocious all at the same time.  They’ll interact with your kid, wrap around their little finger, learn to talk and roar in dino babble and, based on how they’re taken care of will depend what kind of dino personality you get!  This is, for sure, to be one of the hot toy request for Christmas 2018.  Grab them while you can at a normal price.
But the HatchiBabies aren't the only new addition to the Hatchifamily. There's also the new HatchiMallows 'Sweet Series' — sweet new toys that are soft, squishy, and oh-so-adorable. These mystical creatures are small enough to fit in your palm, and are perched atop their own unique sugary sweet treat. The collection includes the orange Tigrette, who sits on a pink cupcake, the green-eyed Penguala, who can't wait to eat her delicious cookie, and the baby blue Hummingbear, who hugs a yummy pink macaroon. These fun new Hatchi-Mallows are available exclusively at Walmart, both in stores and online, for just $8. Hello, stocking stuffer.
A fun little ‘toy’ for all the tech kids out there who are always on their phones or tablets!  This cute PopSocket has the message ‘Choose Kindness’ on the top with a cartoon-like rainbow.  In a world that could use some gentle reminders, we think this is the friendly thought our kids could see each and every day and hopefully always remember to choose kindness.  There’s also a cute magical unicorn one too!

Introduce your kids to the satisfaction of rescuing animals, even if they aren't ready for a live pet. Scruff-a-Luvs arrive as a mysterious ball of matted fur that must be soaked in water to reveal the sweet puppy, kitten, or bunny underneath. Each one comes with a collar and tag you can use to name them, a brush to make them fluffy, a hair clip, and even an adoption certificate.
Sit your baby in infant swings and seats. These will allow your baby to see the action going on around them, as well as a comfortable place to fall asleep if they get tired during the day. Try to get seats which bounce in response to your child’s movement and swings that can swing themselves. These will help keep baby entertained while you get things done. Just don’t leave them unattended!
The hatching is kind of cool (and pulled her away from her iPad for a couple of minutes) but when the animal inside sings "Happy Birthday" it's supposed to be fully hatched. It wasn't. By the way, you'll want a Dustbuster around because the shell can make a bits-o-plastic mess if you have to break it apart to get to the accessories in the bottom part of the egg.

That’s right, Pikmi Pops are back!  And this one is cuter than ever (and will be kind of tough to get).  Meet ‘Cinnabun’ the giant reversible bunny with giant cute and snuggly floppy ears!  Inside this giant surprise you just may find one or two exclusive scented Pikmi Flips!  Plus, there are 8 surprises inside in total and the most fun part is that your kiddos aren’t going to know which they’re getting until they open it.  Seriously, how cute is this bunny?!  And you’ll love their scent too!

"Hatchimals is revealing its BIGGEST surprise yet on Hatchimals Day (Friday, Oct. 5): the arrival of HatchiBabies!" Spin Master shared with POPSUGAR. Although your kids will have to wait until the "due date" to find out what the new species will look like, there is some news the brand is sharing in advance: inside each speckled egg will be either a baby boy or girl, and your child can discover "secret compartments" inside their hatched egg, "adding even more play opportunities."

Every kid on good old planet earth (while it’s still here, at least) goes nuts over the L.O.L Surprise dolls because (1) kids love to take part in an unboxing, (2) they’re collectible, (3) there’s always a fashion-forward doll inside, (4) there’s other doll stuff inside them and no one ever knows what it’ll be and (5) the whole concept is cute AF.  It’s reminding us of the anxiety we’re having over the secrecy around the new Hatchimals Surprise. Now that we’re squared away there, onto what the latest big surprise is.

That was kind of a let-down for something in this price range. The quality of the Hatchimal itself is on the higher end of what I'd expect to see at Five Below. It'll make a bunch of noise, and cry for a while, but it doesn't seem to do much more than that if you aren't carrying around the color-coded brochure that tells you that the happy-sounding noise it's making is really that the Hatchimal is sick, because the eyes turned green. So, you're supposed to touch its forehead and pet it.
Everything we do in religion must be done by Jesus' authority (Col. 3:17). The Scriptures provide us to all good works (2 Tim. 3:16,17), so if a practice is not included in God's word, it must not be a good work. If a practice is not authorized in the New Testament, then it must be human in origin and therefore not pleasing to God (2 John 9; Gal. 1:6-9; Matt. 15:9; Prov. 14:12; etc.)

Meet Fingerlings HUGS - theyre softies when it comes to affection! Their long arms are perfect for big hugs and these cuddle monkeys never want to let you go! The Safari Learning Station" from LeapFrog grows with children while keeping them entertained through interactive learning. The three-in-one arch adjusts from floor play to standing height. Three different modes allow Giraffe, Lion and Zebra to introduce the ABCs and 123s while playing safari-themed tunes. The light-up piano lets tiny tots discover shapes and colors. Kids are extra engaged when they spin Elephant's bead spinner, twist Chameleon's tail and drop the balls through Monkey's tail to practice motor skills and learn about colors. For ages 6 months and older. Price: $49.99 at leapfrog.com.

Understand when to feed your baby. Your baby will generally let you know when they need to be fed. Expect crying. With time you may come to be able to hear the difference between the cries and know which means hunger and which means bedtime and so on. How often they eat will depend on what they are eating, how much of it they are eating, and their own individual metabolism.
Last year, we scoured the aisles of every local toy fair to get the scoop on which toys would likely sell out fast during Christmas and the holidays, driving parents on crazy last-minute hunts for sparkly eggs, squishy fake food, and tiny interactive baby monkeys. This year, looking for an even deeper level of insider information, we reached out to trend experts for their opinions on what toys would top the charts of holiday season 2018 (hint: Hatchimals are still very hot).
So here is where the 3 stars come in, my 6 year old loves it. Even with the less than fantastic start, once he started playing with her, he has thanked me for getting him a hatichamal about once an hour. He loves the little paper that tells you about it's mood by eye colors. He also adores that it comes with a rattle, a cuddle buddy, brush and a bottle. Each of them make Hatchy respond (he likes making it sing and dance). It's so very sweet watching him take care of it, and that 'juuust' makes it worth it to me.
We always love a ‘toy’ where the kids can actually learn.  Go figure!?  This is one of the latest must-haves of the season and will come with 5 award winning games that allow your kids to transform their iPad into a hands-on learning tool.  It helps with things like math, spelling, and more!  It’s perfect for children between the ages of 5 and 12, but the only thing we don’t love about it is that it’s only compatible with the iPad.  So if you have another brand’s tablet, it’ll be a no-go.
Just in time for the ho-ho-holidays, LOL Surprise has come out with the official LOL Surprise BIG SURPRISE that has been kept under such tight wraps that people are basically calling up psychics to see if they know what’s inside this clever little egg. One of the major things now that we know what’s inside is another cute little collectible doll with 50 (FIFTY!) surprises in each of them. Here’s the breakdown:
Who doesn’t love a surprise pet? Hatchimals need kids’ help to emerge from their eggs, but these mystery critters are anxious to meet their new friends! Classic Pengualas and Draggles are adorable interactive pets: kids can teach them to walk, talk and play. Teeny Colleggtibles come in more than 70 different varieties: perfect for trading with friends!
My two girls after over 5 month wait finally was able to get their Hatchimals and they were not disappointed. I was impressed at the muti-functions these little animated toys were capable of. They speak, move, and light up. These little critters are still holding their attention much longer than their Furbys. They got them on Easter and still play with them often and it is almost June and they are still running on the batteries that came with them. I am impressed.
Bought as a Christmas present. My kids loved this as they had been asking for it for awhile now and they loved the time they spent getting it to hatch which really wasn’t to long...maybe 10-15mins is all but I do feel that is long enough for kids, otherwise they loose interest. Once hatched the twins are pretty cute and my girls have enjoyed playing with them!
"Based on the overwhelming response to Fingerlings, plush was the obvious next step for the brand to really stay true to our core messages - friendship that goes where you go - while also showcasing the breadth of our technological innovation," Sydney Wiseman, the brand manager at WowWee, told INSIDER. "And who doesn't love a hug? Now, Fingerlings Hugs hold on as you go on adventures together."

Don’t worry too much about the soft spot. Babies skulls will not fully close until they are roughly a year and a half to two years old.[1] Until then, you will notice that there are soft spots on their head. Don’t worry too much, however. The membrane that covers these spots is very tough and your baby will be perfectly safe. You can touch these areas or comb the baby’s hair without causing any harm.

Elmo is no stranger to hot holiday toys. This year's new addition will get your 18+ month-old moving and grooving with Elmo as they work on their gross motor skills. This exciting toy has three musical modes: colors, animals, and songs. When you change modes, Elmo's heart changes color and he wiggles and dances to the music. And because every kid (and let's face it parent!) loves Elmo he will be a welcome addition to your Christmas morning.
